# Company Lookalikes API

> Find ranked company candidates from a website domain.

## Find lookalike companies

```http theme={null}
GET https://api.superdata.so/v1/company/lookalikes
```

The endpoint matches the seed website, searches up to three focused candidate groups in Superdata, and ranks the returned company profiles by shared topics, industry, and team size. It works when the seed has no LinkedIn “Similar pages” data. Scores are heuristic comparisons of available profiles, not a provider-certified similarity score. Results are a bounded candidate set, not every company in the directory.

Use this endpoint for the ranked matches shown on the **Company Lookalikes** dashboard page. The dashboard calls `/api/playground/company/lookalikes` with your session; API-key requests use the `/v1/company/lookalikes` URL above. [Similar Companies API](/reference/similar-companies-api) is a separate endpoint that returns related company IDs instead of ranked profiles.

Use a Bearer key with `companies:read` or `mcp:use` scope. One credit is used for the seed match and one for each completed candidate search, up to four credits per request. The exact usage is returned in `meta.credits_used`.

| Parameter | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `url` | URL or domain | Seed company website, such as `fluentmirror.app` |

```bash theme={null}
curl --get 'https://api.superdata.so/v1/company/lookalikes' \
  --data-urlencode 'url=fluentmirror.app' \
  --header 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY'
```

`data.seed` identifies the matched company. `data.results` contains up to 50 ranked companies with domain, description, match score, reasons, keywords, industry, location, workforce counts, and founded year where available. `data.candidate_queries` shows the source queries used. `data.partial` is `true` if a candidate search failed but other candidate groups succeeded.

Invalid or duplicate parameters return `400`; an unmatched seed domain returns `404`. See [errors and limits](/reference/errors-and-limits).
