# Social URL to Email API

> Find a verified work email from a supported social profile URL.

## Find a work email

```http theme={null}
POST https://api.superdata.so/v1/email/find
```

Send one HTTPS social profile URL in a JSON body with a [Bearer API key](/reference/authentication). The key needs `people:read` or `mcp:use` scope. SuperData resolves the URL to one person, then requests contact data for that person. An email is returned only when the contact source explicitly marks it verified or deliverable.

```bash theme={null}
curl --request POST \
  --url 'https://api.superdata.so/v1/email/find' \
  --header 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY' \
  --header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data '{"social_url":"https://socialurl.com/in/example"}'
```

`socialurl.com` is illustrative; replace it with a supported real profile URL. The body accepts only `social_url` (up to 2,048 characters).

## Response

```json theme={null}
{
  "request_id": "req_example",
  "data": {
    "social_url": "https://socialurl.com/in/example",
    "email": "alex@example.com",
    "match_status": "verified"
  },
  "meta": { "credits_used": 2 }
}
```

The response above is illustrative. When no unique person or verified address is available, the request succeeds with `email: null` and `match_status: "not_found"`. This does not imply that the person has no work email.

## Credits and errors

The endpoint makes up to two metered provider requests. `meta.credits_used` reports the actual credits consumed, including completed lookups that return no match. Use an `Idempotency-Key` when retrying.

Errors use the [REST error envelope](/reference/rest-api#responses). Invalid input returns `400`; authentication or scope errors return `401` or `403`; rate and credit limits return `429`; provider failures return `502`.
